The long-term indirect goal of the project is to slow climate change by reducing carbon dioxide greenhouse gas emissions. This can be achieved by expanding circular economy, which means, on the one hand, the controlled and economical management of resources and, on the other hand, the implementation of the use of carbon compounds in such a way that the ecological footprint of the activity is as small as possible. Carbon circularity means recycling all carbon-containing wastes and by-products and, ultimately, ensuring that carbon dioxide that has been released into the air is eventually returned to the economy. Vegetation helps us a lot in this regard, as it uses the sun's energy to bind atmospheric carbon dioxide into organic matter, polysaccharides, oils and, in large quantities, lignocellulose. The long-term goal of our project is to strengthen circular economy in the border region with a more targeted and efficient use of biomass, especially lignocellulosic materials.
